In September 2008 Lehman Brothers collapsed in the US. That altered the lives of Munna - a teenage boy in a neglected Mumbai slum - and his sister and old father. Munna’s sister finds a new context to her dream of making Munna a police officer.
SYNOPSYS:
Lemon Brothers Falls is a dark fiction about a teenage boy, Munna, in a neglected slum of Mumbai, India.
Rani, the elder sister of Munna, is determined to make Munna a police officer. She regularly entertains Bittu, a call centre executive, who supplements her little income, required to run her family comprising of her old sick father and to meet expenses for Munna’s study.
In September 2008 Lehman Brothers collapses in the US. The pain reaches even the most neglected corners of the world.
Bittu loses his job and stops visiting Rani. Bittu gives his moneylender Rani’s address for entertainment. It was an October night and the moneylender finds his way to Rani’s house in the slum in Mumbai.
Munna falls prey to the burning desire of the moneylender in absence of Rani. Munna’s sick father couldn't’ do anything apart from coughing. Rani, returning from her work, goes mad to see what is happening with her beloved brother.
Munna, already frustrated with the commercial-kind relationship between his sister and her so called boy friend, reaps apart the genital of the moneylender! Rani sees her dream of making Munna a police officer shattering down. Rani tries to protect Munna and gets herself arrested, but ultimately it is their father, who goes to the lockup. Rani, who hasn't spoken to her father for several years, doesn’t get a chance to say him ‘I love you’, but she finds a new context to her dream of making Munna a police officer.
